Martha McCarthy’s world is turned upside down when her sister and brother-in-law die in a tragic car accident weeks before Christmas. Single, Martha assumes responsibility for her now orphaned niece and two nephews. But as she struggles to keep the children together, Martha soon learns the power company is foreclosing on the childrens’ home – a house that has been in her family for three generations. Forced to move into Martha’s small cabin, social services informs Martha that it’s not large enough for a family of four.
